Our Facilities

INDOOR ARENA

Enormous custom windows wrap both sides of our 80'x200' indoor.  Every other window slides open to allow cooling breezes on warm days.  High flow ceiling fans can also be used on those hot Maryland summer days to allow for safe and comfortable training.  Our dust-free footing supports and cushions while protecting your horse's delicate lungs.  Mirrors along the entire end of the arena and in all corners let you monitor your ride from all parts of the arena.  Superior lighting provides shadow-free, even lighting on even the darkest nights.  A sound system provides clear acoustics for clinics and for practicing those musical freestyles.  Or perhaps just for a little background music while you enjoy your ride.  Attached indoor and open observation areas allow for viewing and socializing.

OUTDOOR ARENA

Our over-sized 90'x220' outdoor arena is surrounded by breath-taking views of the farm all within steps of the barn.  It easily accomodates a regulation dressage arena to allow for as much practice as you would like.  Excellent footing and drainage makes it available in all but the most inclement weather.

BARN

Our gorgeous 16 stall barn is designed with the horse's safety and comfort as its first priority.   Ventilation is emphasized with airy stalls, Dutch doors,  high ceilings, ceiling fans in the stalls and aisles and many exterior doors to take full advantage of our breezes.  Light fills the barn and our open design allows the horses to always be in sight of each other-important for social animals. Stalls are rubber matted and generously bedded with dust free bedding.  Aisles are also completely surfaced in rubber for safety.  Heated wash stalls allow for comfortable bathing even on cooler days.   Video cameras view each stall and a running feed is always on in the manager's office.  Staff can also view cameras after hours as needed to keep an eye on any horses that might need extra attention.  We provide night check with additional hay and water as needed.  Fire detection is linked to both the fire department and also the owner's home on site.  Human comforts include 2 large heated tack rooms with tack lockers and sinks.  We also offer clean, sealed, spacious loft storage for blankets and all those things that you never know when you may need.  On site laundry allows you to leave your horse laundry here and out of your home.

TURNOUT

Our many 4 board fields and paddocks are carefully maintained to ensure safe and enjoyable turnout.  Turnout is a priority and horses go out for at least part of the day in all but the worst weather.  Blue stone paddocks are available when weather or wet conditions won't allow for regular turnout.  Normal turnout is all day in the winter and all night in the summer.  Turnout can be customized as necessary with private and semi-private offerings.

TRAINING AND LESSONS

We are a serious, but fun training barn and encourage the same of our boarders.  The welfare of the horses is first and foremost in our training methods.  We strongly believe that a happy, healthy, confident horse makes the best partner.  Positive, supportive, and correct training and lessons are offered by our resident FEI trainer, Siobhan Byrne.  We can often be found showing during the summer months and love to have a barn group join us.
